The DF100 C outboard motor differs from the DF100 B primarily in terms of weight and displacement. The DF100 C shares the block with the popular DF115/140 model series outboard motors and, thanks to its large displacement, offers good torque and a long resource. Electronic injection allows the use of Lean Burn lean fuel mixture to significantly reduce fuel consumption. In addition, the outboard motor control unit allows for quick diagnostics if necessary and informs the user of the need for maintenance. Four cylinders, two overhead camshafts (DOHC), 16 valves and a displacement of 2,044 cm3 ensure smooth running and powerful acceleration. Together with the 2.59:1 transmission, this allows the use of large-diameter and fast-pitch propellers, which provide the best possible acceleration.

The forward-shifted crankshaft improves the outboard motor’s weight distribution, reduces vibration and stabilizes the steering. Instead of a timing belt, a chain drive is used, which means less maintenance and greater reliability. To the delight of fishermen, the Troll Mode System function allows you to change the engine speed between 800 and 1200 rpm with just a few button presses. A powerful, 40A generator ensures that the battery is always full and the on-board electrical equipment is functional. Starting with the 2022 model year, the generator’s efficiency at idle has been increased and now the charging capacity at idle is 3 amps higher. The tilt angle of the boat engine can be limited if necessary, which allows the outboard to be used even in narrow stern wells. As an optional extra, the Suzuki Keyless Start System (KLS) can be installed. The water detection sensor integrated into the boat engine’s fuel filter warns the user if water has entered the fuel system.

Changing the world starts with the little things – starting in 2023, DF100 C boat engines are equipped with a microplastic collection filter. The engine cooling water is directed through the filter, and as a result, the filter collects microplastics suspended in the water. The filter does not need to be replaced, it is cleaned during maintenance. If the filter should become clogged before the maintenance interval is complete, the cooling water is directed past the filter and the boat engine continues to operate normally.
