Suzuki boat engine DF 115BG

Description

On January 21, 2022, Suzuki Corporation officially announced the start of production of the new line of Suzuki DF140B/115B/100C motors.

The previous series of Japanese “outboards” with the letter “A” has long enjoyed a well-deserved reputation as economical and durable engines for the most popular mid-size boats and motorboats (5-7 meters) around the world.

Suzuki engineers have made so many fundamental changes to the new models that it is fair to call the line not modernized, but completely new.
In the presentation of the DF140B/115B/100C series, the manufacturer names four key characteristics that radically distinguish it from the previous ones:

2. Ease of maintenance
3. Durability
4. High performance

Main changes:

• The modified air intake system provides better protection against moisture;
• The updated flywheel provides intensive ventilation and cooling of incoming air;
• Injectors and a fuel pump with higher performance have been installed;
• A new fuel vapor separator and a fuel filter with a water detection sensor protect the engine.

The cylinder head and pistons have been modernized;
• Increasing the compression ratio from 9.7 to 10.6 allows the two-liter engine to reach maximum speed faster and increases fuel combustion efficiency by 5–7%;
• The new muffler design makes driving even more comfortable, because the engine now runs even quieter;
• Thanks to the modified channels, the transmission oil is better cooled and circulates more optimized. This reduces the temperature of the gearbox gears and increases the engine life.
• Easy access to the oil filter: It can be replaced by simply removing the engine hood
Oil spill catcher: A tray is installed around the oil filter to catch oil that spills when changing the oil filter
• The diameter of the oil dipstick hole has been increased. Allows the use of an oil pump with a 15 mm diameter tube, which significantly simplifies and speeds up servicing.
