Description
Suzuki Corporation held a press conference at the exhibition in Dusseldorf and proudly presented there the new DF325A engine – an outboard engine in which fantastic power and strength are perfectly combined with excellent fuel efficiency and reliability, and all this is complemented by an unobtrusive and stylish design.
The new engine was developed in such a way that it could be used daily on a wide variety of boat models – the engine runs on low-octane fuel (not lower than AI-91)! This is the first 4-stroke outboard engine over 300 horsepower in the world with such characteristics. High-tech and innovative DF325A engine is very reliable, easy to use, practical and ideal for large boats and for any purpose.
Whether you use your motor for commercial or recreational purposes, wherever you are in the world, the latest addition to the Suzuki motor line is an excellent choice, as this motor model uses the same revolutionary technologies as the recently released DF350A motor.
IN THE NEW MOTOR, SUZUKI ENGINEERS COMBINE HIGH POWER AND MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY
Suzuki engineers set themselves the task of developing a compact, lightweight outboard motor that would at the same time have the necessary power. In addition, their goal was to make the new DF325A motor run on low-octane fuel (not lower than AI-91). All this, combined with unrivaled reliability, makes the new motor model ideal for a wide variety of large boats and boats around the world. The new propeller design not only creates the thrust needed for forward movement, but also a significant amount of rotational energy. Suzuki engineers were able to use this “lost” energy to improve performance using the revolutionary technology of two counter-rotating propellers.
SUZUKI DUAL PROP SYSTEM (TWO COUNTER-ROTTING PROPELLERS) – A REAL REVOLUTION AMONG PROPELLERS
Suzuki engineers know very well that the shape of the gearbox and the design of the propeller greatly affect the technical characteristics of the motor. The innovative design of the counter-rotating propellers provides good grip on the water, and it is thanks to the design that it was possible to construct a more compact, streamlined and hydrodynamic gearbox. The torque is equally distributed between the two propellers, and thus the load on one propeller is reduced.
One of the remarkable advantages of the motor is the exceptional directional stability, which is achieved by rotating the propellers in the opposite direction.
TWO FUEL INJECTORS FOR COOLING AND POWER
Fuel injection ensures fuel atomization and cylinder cooling. To provide the necessary power and cooling, fuel is injected at a precisely defined time and angle. The new system consists of two small fuel injectors, which provide high precision, fast atomization and fuel efficiency.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL – TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED PISTONS
Due to the high compression ratio (10.5:1), pistons require more advanced technology than before. Not only the piston surface, but also the connecting rod and other metal parts must withstand high loads. To help the piston cope with the additional lateral pressure, it was decided to switch from standard heat treatment of the unit to shot peening. Shot peening technology provides a rough, clean surface, which in turn evenly distributes the pressure created during combustion. This is a more expensive and complex technology, but it is what makes a piston that has the right to be called “the best”.
DIRECT TWO-STAGE INTAKE SYSTEM FOR COOLING AND DRYING AIR
Thanks to the direct two-stage intake system, already cooled dry air enters the engine. This revolutionary approach ensures a direct air flow and at the same time eliminates water from entering the engine.
