Suzuki boat engine DF 350A

Description

SUZUKI Corporation has introduced a new four-stroke outboard motor DF350A (V6, 350 horsepower) to boaters.
The new flagship model features not only innovative counter-rotating propellers, but also other exclusive innovations.

Today, this is the largest and most powerful motor in the SUZUKI line.
The new model of the outboard motor has been developed for more than three years, and this is a significant stage in terms of technical developments and design of outboard motors.
SUZUKI Corporation engineers have developed an air intake system that allows the motor to suck in sufficient air, while separating moisture. Two ventilation grilles under the motor cover trap moisture and water droplets. The air temperature at the intake is on average 10 degrees lower than the ambient temperature. Thus, already cooled and dense air enters the combustion chamber for more complete filling.
Two fuel injectors.

Two small fuel injectors allow fuel to enter the combustion chamber precisely, which in turn avoids offset combustion, the main cause of detonation. In addition, since 100% of the fuel is injected into the cylinder at once, the necessary degree of cooling is achieved, as well as 3% additional power without the risk of causing detonation.

Improved piston system.

To achieve the engine power of 350 horsepower, the piston surface must withstand additional loads. To ensure these indicators, as well as a long service life, SUZUKI engineers switched from standard heat treatment of the unit to shot peening. Shot peening is a more expensive technology that gives a rough, clean surface, which in turn evenly distributes the pressure created during combustion. In addition, the connecting rods and metal parts are reinforced in such a way as to cope with the additional load.

Suzuki Dual Prop system (two counter-rotating propellers).

The DF350A outboard motor’s twin propellers offer three advantages: compact size, increased stability, and good traction.
By distributing the motor’s power over six propeller blades instead of three, the gears and gearbox are as compact as possible, which in turn allowed the design of a more streamlined, hydrodynamic gearbox. SUZUKI engineers spent many hours on computer modeling and on-water testing, as they understood that reducing resistance underwater is essential for increasing boat speed and improving its performance. Counter-rotating propellers provide an additional surface area, which provides greater stability and good traction underwater. (Think wide racing tires and regular tires.) The result is exceptional acceleration, perfect starts, and correct directional forward motion (elimination of steering torque).
The top speed is greater than expected.
The important thing is that all these advantages are evident even on large, fully loaded boats.

The DF350A features precision electronic control, electric throttle and shift control. The boat captain will appreciate the smooth shifting, precise throttle control, not to mention the ease of adjustment and installation, especially with a second station.

Like other SUZUKI V6 models, the DF350A outboard features an offset crankshaft, making the motor more compact in size. The two-stage gearbox provides a higher gear ratio (2.29:1) and torque for quick acceleration, as well as for increased top speed. It should be noted that the DF350A outboard can be installed on 27-inch centers, so the motor will fit most types of transoms, and will also require less space when installing two, three or four motors.

The DF350A outboard motor is equipped with a lean burn system, which reduces fuel consumption across the entire engine speed range, especially at cruising speed. Like the entire line of 4-stroke SUZUKI outboard motors, the DF350A motor runs virtually silently at idle speed.

The DF350A motor meets any modern tasks and requirements.
